Bridgewater Church is a community of believers being transformed by Jesus Christ.

 

This three and one-half year old congregation is meeting spiritual needs of people living in Madisonville-Mandeville-Covington, Louisiana, on the northern shore of Lake Ponchartrain, just North of New Orleans.
 

Our people come from a rich variety of backgrounds and we describe ourselves as a "multi-denominational fellowship." We have chosen to minimize denominationalism and simply proclaim Jesus as Lord, while showing respect for a variety of Christian traditions. This is reflected in our style of worship, somewhat structured as we celebrate Biblically-based preaching and the great hymns of faith.

 

You will notice in our Statement of Faith (see above under "Beliefs") how our views on baptism, communion and women in ministry are open and inclusive.

 

We support global missions through The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. 

 

Since 2006, we have gathered for worship at The Lake Ponchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, Madisonville. We also provide other Bible study and support groups at our Friendship House, in Madisonville, and in homes.

 

Our Music Ministry and Youth ministries are growing.
